Mulled Apple Cider
Unsweetened apple cider simmered with fresh orange peel, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, cardamom, and allspice. Warm mulled apple cider served in mugs with fruit slices.

- 1/2 gallon apple cider (8 cups)
- 1 each peel from 1 small orange or tangerine
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 2 each cinnamon sticks
- 1 each whole nutmeg
- 3 whole cloves
- 2 each cardamom pods, slightly crushed
- 3 each allspice berries
Add all ingredients to a medium saucepan. Bring the cider to a boil over medium high heat. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 30 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from the heat. Pour through mesh strainer into pitcher.
Serve in mugs with slices of fresh lemon, fresh orange, and apple.
